GREAT NEWS
This year we will be using MathXL for School for majority of our out of classroom homework assignments. MathXL is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program that provides personalized practice, instruction, and feedback for all levels of math students. With MathXL, I, the teacher, can create, edit, and assign online homework and assessments using exercises created for the course and unit objectives. This program provides me timely information about student homework allowing me to better prepare class instruction to address the needs of students while saving valuable class time for focused learning and discussion. Students will receive immediate feedback and can receive personalized study plans based on assessment results. The study plan diagnoses weaknesses and links students directly to tutorial exercises for the objectives they need to study. Students can also access supplemental learning aids, such as animations and video clips, directly from selected exercises.
I would encourage parents to sit down with their children to explore this great addition to the classroom. If your child has limited Internet and/or computer access at home, please contact me with any concerns.
