Welcome to Honors Geometry. You will probably find geometry to be quite different than math classes you’ve had in the past. Geometry is much more verbal than math topics you’ve studied before. You will do more reading and writing than calculating this year! You may find yourself struggling in math, when math has always come easy to you in the past! Your success in this class will depend on you! You will not learn by watching me or your classmates do the work. We will work collaboratively to accomplish this task. You will be expected to take notes, and can expect to have daily practice work. Use resources that are available to you to understand the material. Always show all work on graded assignments, quizzes and tests. During class, you should make corrections and ask questions about any topic that you do not understand. An Honors class requires you to understand and apply concepts. Test and quiz questions will check that you not only understand concepts, but that you are able to take that understanding to the next level!
